A lot of people want to know how soon they’re going to get credit again.  When can they get back on their feet?  I provide answers to those questions.  You’re going to get credit again within about six months to two years, depending on what type of credit.  You can buy a house after two years.  You can buy a car immediately after a bankruptcy.  In fact, even before a bankruptcy case is over, you’re going to receive letters from different financing companies and auto dealers who want to get you in a car because (1) they know you can’t file again for eight years, (2) they’re going to get you at a little bit higher interest rate than if you had perfect credit, and (3) it’s a secured item, so if you don’t make the payment, they can come and repossess the car, then they could sell it at auction and come after you for the deficiency because you can’t file another Chapter 7 fresh start for eight years.  So you will get credit again.
