In a 16 page opinion released January 28, 2016 in the Casino Caribbean, et al. v. Money Centers of America adversary proceeding (Bank. D. Del. Adv. No. 14-50437), Judge Christopher S. Diocese of Duluth Seeks Bankruptcy Protection

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Duluth, Minn., filed for bankruptcy Monday after being hit with an $8.4 million verdict in a clergy sex abuse case, Read the Daily Bankruptcy Review story via The Wall Street Journal.  Last month, a jury awarded $8.4 million to a man who says he was sexually abused in the late 1970s by a priest serving in the Diocese of Duluth, which spans 10 counties in northeastern Minnesota.

Rig Operator Vantage Drilling Files for Bankruptcy

Houston-based contract rig operator Vantage Drilling Co. filed for bankruptcy protection late Wednesday night after reaching a deal on a debt-for-equity swap with its lenders and bondholders, The Wall Street Journal reported. Like others in the oil-and-gas industry, Vantage has been hamstrung by stubbornly low oil prices.
