Next week in bankruptcy, Sports Authority Inc. will ask a bankruptcy judge for final approval of $595 million in bankruptcy financing.

On Tuesday, the big-box athletic retailer will request permission on the loan, which has raised “numerous red flags” with unsecured creditors. The creditors requested more information about the loan last week and formally objected Thursday. Judge Mary Walrath of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Wilmington, Del., delayed the hearing to Tuesday to give unsecured creditors more time to sort through the documents.

Will Hawaii’s Bankrupt Circus Fold Its Tent?

A Hawaiian Hilton resort is trying to evict a company that put on a circus-inspired CabaRAE show on its grounds until October, but the organizers say the show might still go on.

The bankrupt company, RAE Entertainment Group LLC, recently told a judge that it is trying to find a replacement act to use the Hilton Hawaiian Village’s leased 7,000-square foot showroom.

Gallup Diocese Files Plan to Compensate Abuse Victims

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Gallup, N.M., on Monday unveiled a $22 million reorganization plan, the bulk of which will be used to compensate 57 clergy sexual-abuse victims.

The plan, filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Albuquerque, N.M., lays out how the diocese expects to repay its creditors, the vast majority of whom say they were sexually abused by the diocese’s clergy decades ago.
