Xcel Brands recently said it’s hoping to buy the brand that J. Christopher Burch, the ex-husband of fashion designer Tory Burch, launched after the couple’s split.

This week on The Broke and the beautiful, a couple of celebrity bankruptcy cases are coming to light. Sitcom star Drake Bell has been in bankruptcy since last May, and former “Baywatch” star Donna D’Errico took her own turn in Chapter 7. Also, Betsey Johnson puts her own spin on New York Fashion Week.

This week on The Broke and the Beautiful, special-effects company Digital Domain has sunk into bankruptcy, and singer John Mayer is being targeted in a Ponzi-scheme lawsuit. Also, a record-label exec got $2 million from a lawsuit over “Whoomp! (There It Is).”

This week on The Broke and the Beautiful, rapper Young Buck agreed to a plea deal and has been kicked out of his house. Also, TLC member T-Boz is getting sued for not making car payments.
