This year’s very public implosion of New York law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP was the biggest law firm failure in U.S. history—and it seems the creators of CBS drama “The Good Wife” were taking notes.
As the show’s new season unfolds, the fictional Chicago law firm Lockhart Gardner (where the leading character, lawyer Alicia Florrick, works) is facing $60 million in debt. Its name partners have asked for a time-out to pay off their creditors, and a trustee has been appointed to oversee the firm’s finances.
