Thomas M. Horan will lead the law firm Shaw Fishman Glantz & Towbin’s new office in Delaware. Mr. Horan, who most recently worked with law firm Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, has represented debtors, creditors’ committees and other parties in chapter 11 cases. Mr. Horan is on the American Bankruptcy Institute’s board of directors. He also has provided pro bono services, including being a guardian ad litum and representing clients in abuse cases.

James Sottile has joined law firm Jones Day as a partner in the business and tort litigation group. Mr. Sottile focuses on commercial litigation and complex bankruptcy cases, including cases involving securities fraud and insurance coverage. He earned his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center.

Janet M. Weiss has joined law firm Dorsey & Whitney as a partner in the finance and restructuring group. Ms. Weiss, who will work in the New York office, has represented debtors, creditors, lenders and other parties in chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings.  Ms. Weiss has also worked on bankruptcy litigation and pre-negotiated bankruptcies. Most recently, she was a partner with the business restructuring and reorganization practice group at law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
