Coming and Going Concerns

Sharon Levine has joined the bankruptcy and restructuring group at law firm Saul Ewing as a partner. Ms. Levine has experience in bankruptcy litigation and restructurings. She has represented unsecured creditors’ committees in bankruptcies including Exide Technologies, Horsehead Holdings, Lear Corp. and Verso Paper. She has worked on other big chapter 11 cases including MF Global, Hawker Beechcraft and Patriot Coal, as well as Detroit’s chapter 9 bankruptcy case. Ms. Levine is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Turnaround Management Association, New Jersey Turnaround Management Association and the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation.

Lenard M. Parkins has joined law firm Greenberg Traurig as a shareholder with the business reorganization and financial restructuring group. Mr. Parkins represents corporations, bondholders, secured lenders, oil and gas interest holders and other parties. He works in bankruptcy, financial restructurings, litigation and workouts and has represented clients in industries including energy and real estate. He will divide his time between New York and Houston.

Gregory Plotko has joined the bankruptcy group at law firm Richards Kibbe & Orbe as a partner in the New York office. He most recently worked with Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, where he represented lenders in bankruptcy cases such as Peabody Energy and Patriot Coal. He also has worked on Detroit’s chapter 9 case and the chapter 11 cases of Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., General Motors and Chrysler.
