Coming and Going Concerns
Steven Agran has been promoted to principal and shareholder at turnaround firm MorrisAnderson, and Mark Briden has been promoted to director. Mr. Agran, who is based in New York City, was previously managing director. He has experience leading restructurings, turnarounds and interim management projects for distressed companies in industries including trucking and food services. Chicago-based Mr. Briden, previously associate director, advises underperforming and distressed companies. He has worked on corporate turnarounds and restructurings both in and out of court.
Roger Dobson and Kate Higgins have joined the business restructuring and reorganization group in the Sydney office of law firm Jones Day. Mr. Dobson has worked on big restructuring matters in Australia, where he represented debtors, liquidators and administrators in industries such as mining services and construction. Ms. Higgins has advised banks in Australia and globally, and she has worked on project finance and debt restructurings and workouts. The two previously worked with Henry Davis York’s Sydney office, where Mr. Dobson led the banking, restructuring and insolvency group.
Randall E. Mehrberg is joining law firm Jenner & Block as partner in the corporate, litigation and restructuring and bankruptcy groups. Mr. Mehrberg has experience in mergers and acquisition, financings, restructurings, workouts and other areas. He most recently worked as executive vice president and general counsel of mountain resort company Vail Resorts, but he began his legal career in 1980 as a Jenner & Block associate before leaving the firm in 1993. Mr. Mehrberg also worked at the firm from 1997 to 2000.
