Peter Declercq and Sonya Van de Graaff joined Morrison & Foerster in London as partners in the law firm’s business restructuring and insolvency practice. They regularly represent hedge funds and other distressed investors. Mr. Declercq’s practice includes representing formal and ad hoc creditor groups in out-of-court restructurings around the world, while Ms. Van de Graaff also advises clients on restructurings of financial institutions where government intervention can impact creditors. They joined the firm from Schulte Roth & Zabel.

Brad M. Kahn has joined law firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld as a partner in the firm’s restructuring group. Mr. Kahn, who works in the Manhattan office, focuses on creditors’ and bondholders’ committees in chapter 11 cases. He has worked with companies in the telecommunications, energy and printing industries and has worked on well-known bankruptcy cases including NII Holdings Inc., GT Advanced Technologies Inc. and Nortel Networks Inc.

Bruce H. Mendelsohn joined investment bank Perella Weinberg Partners as a partner with the advisory group, where he will lead the restructuring practice. Mr. Mendelsohn, who most recently was head of the Americas restructuring group at Goldman Sachs, will be based in New York. He focuses on restructuring advisory, liability management and distressed mergers and acquisitions.
