David Benick has joined consulting firm Gavin/Solmonese as a senior director and will work with the litigation consulting team. He has experience in bankruptcy valuation, dispute valuation and other types of valuations. Most recently, Mr. Benick worked with advisory firm Grant Thornton. He is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and the Turnaround Management Association.

Louis Curcio, Patrick Fitzmaurice, Jonathan Forstot and Hugh McDonald have joined law firm Troutman Sanders to help bolster the firm’s bankruptcy practice. The group joined from Dentons, where they’ve been practicing together for several years. They have represented lenders, buyers of distressed debt, trustees and financial institutions.

Jeffrey Manning has joined Reznick Capital Markets Securities as managing director in its new corporate recovery group. Mr. Manning, who will be based in Baltimore, will provide investment-banking services for companies throughout all stages of a restructuring. He previously led BDO Capital Advisors’ special situations group.

Jeff Nerland has joined advisory firm SierraConstellation Partners as a senior director. Mr. Nerland, who is based in Los Angeles, has advised clients in financial distress in industries including retail, restaurants, manufacturing and transportation. He also has experience as a chief restructuring officer.

Michael E. Niebruegge has joined law firm Bracewell & Giuliani as a partner. He focuses on finance, bankruptcy and workouts, especially in the mining and energy industries, and he has represented credit providers and financial advisers to oil and gas producers. Mr. Niebruegge most recently worked with Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft.

David M. Sharp has joined UpShot Services as a senior global securities consultant and will help clients with Chapter 11 administration. He previously worked with Kurtzman Carson Consultants as director of securities and has helped manage such well-known Chapter 11 cases as Eastman Kodak Co. He has experience advising clients on restructuring transactions involving public securities domestically and internationally.
