School Specialty files for Chapter 11, will sell to private equity firm

School Specialty Inc. announced Monday that it has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and will sell its assets to Miami private investment firm Bayside Capital Inc. The asset purchase agreement will go through a court-supervised sale process.
