FLINT, MI-- Flint city council has approved the mayor’s budget after making several amendments to provide funding for several positions. Mayor Karen Weaver’s $55.6 million proposed budget would cut 57 city positions and add 34 positions, mostly to its police force. The budget originally showed more than $2 million dollars being pulled from the city’s general fund to balance finances. City council passed several amendments to the budget before approving it with a 6-2 vote at its Monday, June 3 special meeting.
