Bankruptcies fall by 15 percent in 2011

There were 19847 bankruptcies recorded in 2011, while 23444 were reported in 2010, a decline of 3597, or 15.3 percent. In December, there were 1509 bankruptcies recorded, down 7 percent from the 1629 bankruptcies reported in December of 2010.
