Bankruptcy filings drop more than 18% in May

After rising slightly in April, area bankruptcy filings in May resumed a long downward trek. In May, new filings in the federal Western District of New York's Rochester division showed a more than 18 percent decline, falling to 142 from 174 in May 2014.
