Wood Dale Bankruptcy Lawyer On Financial Freedom After Filing Bankru...

09/22/11

It’s relatively easy for an attorney to get someone out of debt who doesn’t have any assets.  What is hard for an attorney is to make certain that the client never falls back into bankruptcy again.  This is something I, an experienced bankruptcy attorney, stress with my clients on a day to day basis.  I want my clients to never file for bankruptcy again.  I want their referrals, I want to help family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and others that they know that are struggling financially, to get them out of debt.

But I do not want to see that person come back into my office in eight years and say, “David, I need to file again.  I’m back in trouble again.”  If I see that, that really means that I haven’t done a good enough job of convincing them of what they needed to do after their prior bankruptcy case was over.

Now, obviously, I cannot help everyone and change how they live their lives and how they decide to spend money, but I want to reiterate to people that although I can get you out of debt, that’s not my only job and purpose here.  My purpose here is so that you can be financially free going forward and that the ills that caused you to see me in the first place don’t raise their ugly head again.
