Stickney Bankruptcy Law & Finding The Right Attorney
Bankruptcy is something that can be learned over time as an attorney. However, you pretty much have to experience different types of cases, different types of trustees and different types of judges before you can really feel comfortable giving out advice to potential bankruptcy clients. One of the things that I have learned over the years is that there is no substitute for an educated client. What I do right from the start is begin to educate the client on the process, on what it’s going to take, on what they can expect from the court, from their attorney, and what they need to do to have a successful bankruptcy case going forward from start to finish.
I provide a book entitled Chapter 7 Success – The Complete Guide to Surviving Personal Bankruptcy. Within this book, which takes approximately 25 to 35 minutes to read, are detailed examples of the type of questions that you as the debtor are going to be asked at your meeting of creditors in front of the trustee. It’s going to advise you on the process in terms of filing, 341 meeting, and discharge. It’s going to advise you on the types of documents that need to be filed, when they need to be filed and basically how the entire process works, so that you can be comfortable as the case moves along that everything is going according to plan.
