Need To File Bankruptcy

06/22/11

How do you know when it’s best to file for bankruptcy?  What I usually suggest is that if a person can bail himself out of debt within six months, then I would not recommend a bankruptcy filing.  However, if at the end of the six month period the person is still swamped with debt and unable to make headway, then I would definitively recommend a bankruptcy filing of some sort.  It may be best to file a Chapter 7 and receive a fresh start.  Or, it may be best to file a Chapter 13 bankruptcy and reorganize the debt.
