We have been in a mortgage foreclosure crisis for three or four years.  You probably have seen the former Secretary of the Treasury Paulsen, you have seen Obama, you even saw Bush when he was still in office basically telling people to call your mortgage company and they came up with all these ridiculous programs that helped out almost nobody about to lose a home.  You remember all the stuff in the news?  Did you ever hear anybody, anybody even whisper one word about Chapter 13?  No.  Right?  Isn’t that funny?  They never even mentioned it.  They never mentioned it as a good option.  And I don’t know why because even if these politicians are pro banks, the banks get paid here.  Granted, they don’t get paid quickly.  But I would rather get paid $10,000 over 3 to 5 years then get a Chapter 7 notice and have the people leave the house and leave me with nothing as a mortgage company.  So I think Chapter 13  is one of the best kept secrets even today for people who are trying to save their home.
