The watchdog in charge of monitoring TARP recipients on Tuesday announced criminal charges against a former official of Anchor Bancorp Wisconsin Inc. for allegedly orchestrating a fraudulent real-estate deal.

A judge on Monday said LightSquared could move forward with its $2.65 billion restructuring proposal over the strong objection of Dish Network Corp. Chairman Charlie Ergen, LightSquared’s largest secured creditor. Read the Daily Bankruptcy Review article here.

J. Michael Booe has joined law firm Winston & Strawn LLP as a partner in the Charlotte, N.C., office. Mr. Booe, a fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, focuses on corporate financing transactions as well as syndicated commercial and single lender transactions. He has experience representing clients in Chapter 11 cases and other insolvency matters. Mr. Booe earned his law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
