A bidding war is brewing for Constar International Holdings LLC, the Philadelphia-based maker of plastic bottles that scrambled for the safety of bankruptcy in December, clutching a $68.5 million buyout offer from an affiliate of Australia’s Amcor Ltd. Sayan Bhattacharyya has been named partner in the New York office of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan. Mr. Bhattacharyya works on financial restructurings, and he represents hedge funds, private equity funds and banks both in and out of court. He’s worked on a number of well-known cases including AMF Bowling, Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co., Indiana Downs, Loehmann’s and Vertis.

Dish Network Corp.’s officially pulling its bid for LightSquared Inc., the telecommunications firm in bankruptcy that has wireless spectrum Dish has been coveting, according to people familiar with the matter, The Wall Street Journal reports.
