Kindle and ePub Versions of Bankruptcy Code (Updated)

One of my crack research assistants, Scott Cromar, put together electronic versions of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure (FRBP) that can be read using Amazon Kindle or an ePub reader. Because these books were assembled using public-domain materials from the U.S. government, we are making them available free of charge. The Daily Docket: Kodak Enters Bankruptcy

Eastman Kodak Co. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New York early Thursday morning, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Kodak’s $950 million bankruptcy loan calls for the struggling company to lay out plans to auction its digital imaging patent portfolio by the end of June, court papers say. Read the Daily Bankruptcy Review article here.

Redressing Debt Collection Abuses In Bankruptcy Court

Some people file bankruptcy mainly to end what they consider to be harassment by debt collectors. Enthusiastic and aggressive bill collectors often use collection tactics that violate protections afforded debtors by the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Sometimes a bankruptcy will tell their bankruptcy attorney about repeated overly aggressive and illegal debt collection actions which helped drive the client to consider filing bankruptcy.
