Therefore, I wish to share the poem I wrote that served as basis for the lyrics to a consumer protest song that accompanies a non-profit consumer outreach film, Fine Print Foils, that I produced a couple of years ago. Inadequate Explanation For Large Amount of Unsecured Debt Leads Court to Deny Bankruptcy Discharge

A “credit card bust-out” is a scheme in which someone purchases a large amount of goods on credit card debt, conceals the goods, and then files Chapter 7 bankruptcy to wipe out the credit card debt. It’s an abuse of the bankruptcy system designed to help honest debtors, and I as much as anyone else get satisfaction seeing one of these schemers busted in bankruptcy court.

Layaway Fees Waived

We've posted before about Layaway's resurgence after the Great Recession.  A new development: gearing up for the holiday season, many major retailers are waiving their layaway fees, and consumers are responding positively. Here's KMart's.  Also, embargos on various popular products are now being lifited.  This leads me to belive that Layaway's resurrection (in places where it died) may be long-lasting.  It seems that spending on layaway items has gone up in response to this campaign, which makes me wonder: is this just anot
