Attorney General Barbara Underwood’s office is looking into whether merchant cash-advance companies engaged in fraud or abused the state court system.
The bank failed to tell investors that the success of its cross-selling was built on “sales practice misconduct at the bank,” the state attorney general said.
The settlement is the latest development in probes by governments around the globe into banks’ manipulation of benchmark interest rates.
